Classification
AWS A 5.1: E 7016
Description A basic medium heavy coated hydrogen controlled electrode with superior welding characteristics for welding of steels of unknown compositions and other critical applications. The electrodes can be used easily in positions. The molten slag - metal control and slag detachability are very good. Weld deposit is having high radiographic soundness.
Application Suitable for joining of steels of unknown composition, steels containing high carbon and high sulphur, low alloy steels, welding of mild steel to high carbon steels, forge steels, repair of cast iron etc.
